About Modern Food Scene: ModernFoodScene is the vision of Nicolette Turano and Sarah Slater, best friends since childhood, with a flair for style and emerging food trends. Turano graduated from FIT, and has a strong family restaurant pedigree, along with being a co-founder of My Dad's Sauce. Slater has a degree in psychology and a certification from Cornell in Plant-Based Nutrition as well as a background in plant-based food brands.
They began perfecting their cake recipe and gifting them to family and as hostess gifts. After receiving overwhelming feedback they decided to share their olive oil cakes with you! Their cakes are simple, versatile, a feast for the palate and the eye. Each cake is a gift, to be enjoyed toasted with coffee, or as the finale to a celebratory occasion or meal.
